The Fantastic Weekend: Sat. Sun. Mon.

This weekend was a great recovery for sleep, and blogging. Since my tumblr hasn't been active since last year, and I just started it up, I have gained a lot of followers just from the busy activity on my tumblr this weekend. I gained a bunch of followers. I wish it was easy like that on blogspot... oh well. Hopefully with my tumblr blog, I can hopefully gain some followers on here. I get plenty of readers. Anyway, yeah, the weekend was great! I feel refreshed and ready to go back to school. I haven't been to school in 5 days! That's a whole school week! I never skip school, I missed Thursday because of my field trip.
Saturday, it was pouring down rain and there was a thunder and lightening storm. I love thunder and lightening
storms, they make me excited and I love to watch the rain, and how it shimmers in the lightening. It's a beautiful sight, but too quick to catch on camera. On Saturday, it was sunny and raining again, and I wanted to take some more 'in the rain' photos with the sun light glimmering on my hair. It took some cute pictures with my hair all done up cute. I always like to do wacky braids. For this collage-picture, I did a quirky twisty regular fish tail braid... like a pattern of regular braid then fish tail, then regular and fish tail. I turned out super cute! I even took some pictures of my jeans, and my bare feet... inspired by this blog of course! I love those kinds of pictures. Easy to take and if you edit them, they can turn out really cute!
By Saturday night, I was beat. I really hadn't slept for two days, I stayed up late Friday night blogging on tumblr and editing pictures in Instagram. Saturday morning I woke up early and started blogging on tumblr and checking up dates. It was a tiring weekend, so by 12:00 AM, Sunday morning... I was beat. I laid on the couch, and Brittney put on National Treasure I. I snuggled with Punky and my lime green blanket. I edited this picture just a little bit, and I think I edited it pretty cute... Punky looks HUGE! ha.
Sunday morning, I woke up around 9:00, and I started working on my homework. I finally finished the Honors English packet, a big assignment that isn't due till June 4th. I'm glad I got it all done, now I just need to  read a page of the packet in front of the class for the full amount of points and I'll be able to turn it in. I think I did a pretty good job on it. After I finished that, I watched a lot of Bewitched. I was waiting for the cousins to come over, and I knew I'd get a chance for taking cute pictures of them for my blog. When they came over, my aunt Shawna and I ended up talking about beauty and facial tips. It was actually fun, showing off my large collection of facial and beauty products. I collect them and use them. I love getting a new facial product!
Our little beauty talk inspired me to do the coconut oil in my hair again, only this time I added some of the Eco Emi vegan conditioner in my hair too. The Green Body-Green Planet vegan Energy conditioner. It made my hair smell nice during the three hour wait for it to soak it. I kept it in for three hours instead of two because I lost track of time... but I LOVE the results! LOVE THEM.
Before the Results/During the Soaking...
After... the results! LOVE MY HAIR!!
My hair is so soft and I love to touch it! It feels so smooth and looks so good. I think I am going to do this Thursday before my party so that my hair can look good for my party! You can read about the whole hair care routine on my tumblr blog. Here is the link: http://naturalinspirations.tumblr.com/post/23887558246
For lunch on Sunday, I made Alexia Oven Reds we had just gotten on Friday with the Fred Meyer pop corn chicken and the new Ranch Dressing from Marie's. The best Ranch dressing ever! Marie's Ranch Dressing!
The combination of the whole bit was so good! It was a great late lunch/early dinner yesterday!
When I went outside to help my aunt put the snow shoes my sister used in her car, I found this wood chip that was shaped like a heart under a bush. Since we just had our tree cut down, it was a fresh piece.
As I was taking pictures of the wood chip, Punky got very curious and decided he wanted to be in the pictures too, so I just made a collage of both the wood chip and Punky together. Both pretty rugged... lol.
I love Sundays, only sometimes. Sundays means that my cousins come over and I always a get a chance to take cute pictures. But... Sundays also mean the last day of the weekend, so time to start the stress again... no more relaxing or staying up the late, until the next weekend, which never takes too long to get back to.
As my little cousin Raelyn was eating, I decided it would probably be the only time I could get her in one spot where she could still move around and make silly faces.
I got some really cute ones of her. They are edited of course, but not too much. You can only do so much with an iPhone... lol.
Raelyn makes me giggle. She loves the camera, such a cheese. Of course, I did silly things with my hands and arms to make her smile. I'm glad she kept it up long enough.
During this time, my other cousin, Isabelle was swinging. She rarely lets me take pictures of her, so I decided that was my only chance. And of course, I got some pretty cute ones because Isabelle is such a cutie pie!
I wish I could get her to 'pretty' smile instead of scowl. She always has a pretty smile in her professional pictures.
After the cousins left, I wanted to an aspirin mask, since that was one of the things that Aunt Shawna and I talked about during out beauty talk. I had also seen it on Pinterest, but had never gotten around to doing it. Since I had lots of time on my hands, I decided to get into the medicine cabinet, grab the aspirin and make a simple aspirin mask.
It works too!
All you do is make a small pool of water in the palm of your hand and stick three aspirin tablets in the water and let them fizz. use your other finger to scrub it on your face and rinse with cold water.
Another beauty thing I did this weekend was a simple lip scrub that I did today.
All it takes is some milk and some baking soda... optional: food coloring.
I chose blue for mine. I did the directions and the results, all in the same collage. The directions are pretty simple and straight forward: Mix the milk with the baking soda and rub on your lips. If you want color to it, add a drop of food coloring, color of your choice to the milk and mix it up, then spoon a drop or two into the baking soda and mix. Easy peasy.
Can't believe I did this whole collage with my phone. My phone amazes me!
Back to Sunday... after the aspirin mask, I watched a few more Bewitched and I then hunkered down and started in on more homework. I read my Honors English book, The Sky Fisherman, catching up from Thursday's assignment that I missed because I was gone on the field trip and then after I knocked that out, I relaxed and then went to bed at about 1:30 in the morning.
This morning, I woke up and had my whole morning planned...
-Drink coffee with a splash of Silk Almond Milk as creamer,
-Eat Cocoa Pebbles and watch a few episodes of Designing Women
-Do homework...
As I was taking this picture, I looked over, and down to see that my cat brought us a little present...
a mole.
I cringed a bit, and blinked, making sure I saw it right... it was a mole. I felt a little sad, but then praised my proud kitty with a pat on the head. I meant to give him a few treats, but never got around to it. I will do it tomorrow, I was busy today.
After my morning regime of eating breakfast, drinking coffee and watching Designing Women, I turned my chair towards the front window and put in my head phones to listen to my rain app on my phone while I read my history and took notes. It was bright this afternoon when I did my history.
I started at 10:00 AM and ended my history homework at 2:00 PM. I will probably get scolded with how many notes I took and slaved over one chapter! But oh well, I know all about the deep south in the 1960s! Interesting stuff!
I love working by the natural light.
My hard work pays off... for bragging rights. I actually love taking notes. I love the way the pen glides on a new sheet of notebook paper. Being a writer, I love that any time! Mostly note taking notes though.
I have been doing homework on and off all day today! Watching Designing Women on and off all day today and blogging on and off all day today!
That is my weekend story, and I'm sorry if there are any misspellings, I don't think there are any, but if there is any misspellings, I was typing this so fast because I want to get to bed on time... lol.
And sorry for an off-kilter structure to my blogging... I know I wrote in a different style this time.
The Sky Fisherman always makes me feel like a red neck in my mind after I get done reading it. Makes me speak like a red neck... in my mind... after I get done reading it.
HA!
This weekend was pretty productive, and I got a lot of blogging done on Tumblr and on here actually!
I love blogging, and I am obviously obsessed with it.
I think I do a pretty good job, to make a not-so-exciting weekend sound exciting and make it pretty with my photo editing... I am really not trying to sound conceited or brag. Just proud of my work and what I do to get it there.
I'm beat tired, so I'm signing off!
Ciao folks.

Friday Ramblings

I had no school today! So glad, because I wouldn't have been coherent at school. I was so tired from my trip yesterday, I just relaxed all morning. Speaking of yesterday, when I got home from my trip, there were gifts for me on my dresser! Mama and Brittney went shopping yesterday while dad and I were on the field trip. Mama got me a pair of underwear and a gray bandeau (for my uncle and future aunt's wedding to wear under my dress) from Aerie and two lotions from Bath and Body Works! That was so sweet of her. I love receiving unexpected gifts!
After I instagram'd that, I went to go blog about my field trip, then after I blogged I watched a couple discs of Designing Women. I love that show, all the women on there are absolutely gorgeous, witty and funny! I giggle at some parts. It's a very interesting show. I enjoy it. Then, I got ready to go to my orthodontist appointment, I just threw  on some jeans and a t-shirt, some white flip flops; washed my face and left my hair natural. I felt that I looked beautiful enough to be seen by people, so I just went as is. I got to my orthodontist appointment, and they said I have been doing splendid with my teeth. I have been taking care them very well! They hygienist and the orthodontist said that when my braces get removed on June 22nd, my teeth will look awesome! I'm so excited, but kind of sad to see the braces go. I had to choose exuberant colors since this was my last appointment to get my braces tightened. I can't believe how fast it has gone! Crazy. After my orthodontist appointment, we went to Fred Meyer and did a little shopping. We purchased a honey dew melon, but before we picked one out, I Googled how to pick out a honey dew melon. There are several ways, first you have to make sure it has a yellow or cream appearance with bright yellow patches. Next, you feel the melons skin, if it is firm and waxy and veiny, it is ripe. You can also thump the melon, if it sounds hollow when you thump it, it is ripe. We picked out a good one after checking with all those.
We got a lot of good stuff there. I wanted some gum, so we got this kind I have never tried before...
"5 gum- PRISM-Electric Watermelon"
It's pretty good! I like the taste, and the taste lasts a while. I like that in gum, it's quality gum in the taste lasts longer than 5 seconds. Ha!
We came home and then relaxed, watched a Designing Women and then planned out a list for my birthday party. I know it's late, but it was the only weekend we could! It's going to be so much fun! It's next weekend in Seaside and I'm so excited!
All of a sudden, mom and I heard thunder and she saw lightening. We immediately let Punkin inside and I went outside to take pictures. I knew I would never get any pictures of lightening, but I wanted to get some pictures of other things, like birds on a wire or the trees or something.
I decided on birds on a wire because there were birds on a wire right outside my house...
And planes! I saw two planes flying.

I went to my backyard, and it looked stunning! With the gray sky and sun shining with the rain. My goodness, a simple backyard in such simple beauty! I love it! I took some shots from the ground facing up. I thought they would be cool, because you can see the rain, the grass, and the solar lights with a little bit of the swing set and the sun shining. I took a lot of these!
My mom saw the photo and said, "It's amazing that's our yard."
It is amazing! I am so glad the rain drops are visible! They look long!
I don't know why the pink part is on the picture, it must be like an effect or something. Or film trash or glare. It's pretty though! I also am glad the rain drops are visible in this picture too with some sun rays! I love this!
I took some pictures of myself too! I quickly did my hair so that I could have the sun, and I mastered the fish tail braid! I did half of my braid a regular braid and then I fishtailed it. I don't think I am doing it right, but it looks good! It looks really good!
I edited the picture so that it looks better. It was a little fuzzy because I took the picture with my front camera of my phone, and with that camera, when I use it, the pictures turn out just a little fuzzy.
(Edited)
(Not Edited)
They both look fine! I like the edited one because it has some color in there. I like both of them though.
I love taking pictures in the rain! During the summer, I will take my camera and wear shorts with a short sleeve or a tank top; it would be humid and I would dance around and just snap pictures and I will get some good ones! It seems silly, but it is so much fun! To dance in the rain, and take pictures and some will end up turning out really cute!
I went inside when the sun went away and when the rain started pour harder and the thunder was clapping louder. I saw Punky looking outside, he must have been watching the rain, or wishing he could go outside...
My parents say it's a good looking picture of the boy!
It is!
I can hear the thunder, and it's loud! I hope we get a thunder and lightening storm! Mom and dad are making steaks for dinner with delicious side dishes.
I'm so excited about dinner!
Today was a good day! I have three more days to the weekend, and tomorrow I will do some homework and hopefully make some cheesy pretzels!
Have a good night everyone!
(The day went by fast today!)

John Day Fossil Beds Field Trip for Honors Biology!

A few weeks ago, my Honors Biology teacher introduced a chance to go to John Day Fossil Beds! I had to go! I love archaeology and dinosaurs, I love learning about them and how people find their bones in places. It's very interesting! So, of course I just had to go, but only 17 kids were going to be picked from each Honors Biology class... we were going to be put in a drawing and 17 kids were going to be selected from each class. That's what made me anxious. If you got your parent to drive, you were in automatically, and this is the kind of trip I thought my dad would like to go on, so I asked him if he would be willing to drive, and he said yes! I was automatically in. I was then worried my friends wouldn't be able to go, and wouldn't be able to ride in the car with me, I was wrong. 90 people go to go on the trip because so many parents offered to drive, so many kids and lots of adults! Ali and Libby got to go and could ride in my car! I was so happy everybody got to go, that wanted to go!
The itinerary was to be at school by 5:00 and leave at 5:15. I woke up at 3:00 and got ready. I love that time of morning, I am so chipper. I don't know why... and I am only chipper at that time of morning when I am going to be with friends and I get the option to rest and relax after I wake up at 3:00. Very few exceptions that I am chipper at that time of morning. I was chipper and hyper this time. My teacher provided breakfast for us, I took a bagel and cream cheese because that's what I ordered on the permission slip.
We all piled into the car and drove! Only, the bus and a few other cars took a different direction and three cars (including my car) took a another direction the opposite way. The way we went was so much faster! as we drove, I was so obsessed with the road and how there were miles and miles of road, just straight away road and country side lining the road. It was beautiful and picturesque. I took so many pictures of the road!
This is one that I was so proud of, it looks exactly how I want it to look! A vintagy look to it and faded. I love it! This was taken on the Warm Springs reservation, the country side.
I took a lot of pictures! With both my camera and my phone.
We got to see the sunrise, and the clouds were so pretty! I couldn't get over it. It was gorgeous!
As we drove farther into Warm Springs, we got to the canyon rocks. I am really in awe on Oregon's beauty and canyon rocks.
There are right there, surrounding the part of the reservation that the Native Americans live on. They are lucky to be surrounded by that beauty.
As we were driving through the reservation, we saw a hawk flying really low. I managed to get a picture of it just as it was about to fly over our car. I was really happy I got that  picture!
Since I am reading The Sky Fisherman by Craig Lesley, and it takes place in the Madras and Warm Springs area, near the DesChutes River, I was really excited about driving through there. I drive through there every year to go to Sun River, but it's even more exciting that it was in a book I am reading, and a book that I love!
I have been in this restaurant once, and I want to go again!
And look at the gorgeous mountainous canyon rock.
Alright, before this post gets sooo long, I will just tell you about what I saw on the car ride. So, we saw the DesChutes river and we saw more canyon rock and chiseled rock. We saw lots of road and such. We got to Crooked River Grasslands and I took this one road photo that I absolutely love! It even has an old car driving up a ways. It was perfect!
We drove farther and farther and got to Prineville, the McDonalds in Prineville. We had to use the facilities and my dad got some coffee and some more breakfast. We also saw my friends Shayla, Olivia and Serra, so we knew we were going to right way if someone we met up with someone else on the tip too. I bought some new sun glasses because I forgot my sun glasses, I got them at a gas station next door to the McDonalds.
After the trip, we were supposed to stop there for dinner. That McDonalds is TINY! Trying to fit 90 people in that thing would be a nightmare, let a lone the wait. Goodness.
So, we came up with a new plan for dinner.
Anyway, we kept driving and we went through the little town of Mitchell, Oregon. It looks like a Ghost Town... it probably isn't even a mile long, we saw a dumpster diver and the only gas station was a trucker gas station, a Pacific Pride... and their novelty shop, "Whole In The Wall Curiosities Curiosity Shop", it was this shack with dirty windows and probably a 5x5 shack thing. My dad kept teasing if we needed to stop here to buy handbags or do our monthly shopping. When we first entered this town, I laughed and said, "This is where real hill billies live." And Ali and Libby laughed, as well as my dad. Quite an interesting town.
We drove on from there, and I read a lot. I started reading The Soldier's Wife by Margaret Leroy, because I had no cell service for most of the ride and most of the trip. It's good so far! I'll have to give a review when I am done.
We then came upon these mountains!
My goodness, they were breath taking.
We finally arrived at the John Day Fossil Bed museum and we were there way before the bus. We just hung around, and talked to our class mates. Had a good time, the bus came and a whole lot of kids came pouring out of the bus. And the boys went over to the cargo part under the bus and was carrying boxes and boxes of snacks. We were set on food, I can tell you that. I was in group 1-3 with Libby. We were so sad that Ali was in 2-4. We missed her on our hike. We drove a little bit to the hiking area, the Blue Basin. We walked a little ways, and then came upon this blue-ish rocky mountain.
I touched it, we all touched it, we were touching 'dinosaur germs' as some of the boys call them.
I took these pictures with my camera... but my camera died during the hike. SO GLAD I brought my phone, so that I could take pictures with my phone.
We walked onward, and I could not believe the beauty I was seeing. It was so gorgeous!
My dad took a picture of Libby and I up there, with the view of the Blue Basin!
And Libby took a picture of my dad and I up there with the view of the Blue Basin.
Right then, my camera died... well a little ways away as we were trekking through a trail... my camera completely died! I was so disappointed. I had my phone though, so I was okay.
We walked through such beautiful area! The breeze felt nice, because the sun was beating down on us. I brought two coats with me on the hike because I figured it would rain, because that's what was predicted of the weather.
The weather people were so wrong! It was HOT!
It did sprinkle a little bit, but it felt nice.
We walked on, and got to a spot to where you could look down on the Blue Basin. I had to take a picture of it. It was just simply beautiful. Really, everything was beautiful up there!
The Blue rock is where they find the fossils. The blue basin is the fossil bed!
Toward the end of the hike, there was some really slippery ground, like dusty slippery. I slipped so many times and tripped over rocks sticking out of the ground, some people fell. Nobody got hurt though, it was just funny actually!
We loaded on the bus after the hike and drove back to the museum for lunch. Ali, Libby and I met up and ate on the pavement behind my car and we ate with my dad. It was nice to not be with everybody on the pavement outside of the museum. To much noise.
After lunch, we split up again, it was Ali's turn to go on the hike and Libby and I for the museum/classroom. We entered the museum, and went into a class room to watch a video about the horses changing through time... then we walked around the museum for a split second and were shoved into another class room with bones and fossils on four tables. We were doing a lab.
I have to say... the lady was a bit interesting... (mean). I'm not going to go into detail... we had been up for almost 12 hours, it has been a long day and yeah, we were squirrely, but we were tired and bored of the class room! I wanted to look in the museum. We barely got to look around the museum because of the stupid classroom time. We could have learned that stuff in the museum. Awh well, something to talk about now!
After the museum, we all huddled around the 'turn out', it's what it looked like to me, and it was like a view ledge, but on ground. There was a wall, and we all stood or sat on the wall for a group photo. I was pulled on the wall with Libby's help and I accidentally knocked off Ali's clipboard! Off the wall! Luckily, the wall was probably only 4 to 5 feet, and she could jump down and grab it off the ground. It didn't fall on our side, it fell on the side that you can't really access unless you jumped over the wall. Ha! She got it and all was good.
After the several group pictures were taken, we headed back to our cars or the bus for some kids and we headed for the Painted Hills! It was about a 45 minute drive from the John Day Fossil Beds museum to the Painted Hills. When we entered the Painted Hills, there were these kids running and there were like three groups of kids. Just running on the side of the road.
I have a little story to tell about them a little later down the post.
We kept driving a little ways, the clouds perfect and we got a glimpse of what the painted hills were going to be like.
We finally arrived at the painted hills and everybody started acting weird because we had been cooped up in the cars for so long, and we were tired and hyper.
We found Mrs. Quirke, our Honors Biology teacher and asked her if we could go into Madras for dinner instead of the tiny McDonalds in Prineville. She said that we were our own car, and we could do whatever we wanted after we saw the Painted Hills. We were like, "Booyahhh!"
This is not me being weird, I was fixing my head band, so I stuck my phone in Ali's pocket and she started taking pictures of me! Bhahahahaha
I promised her I would put this picture up...
I too a picture of Ali and I at the Painted Hills since I took a picture of Libby and I at the Blue Basin..
The painted hills were gorgeous! Natural art like that, and natural scenery is just breath taking and leaves you awe struck!

Absolutely beautiful.
We walked back, and Ali and Libby were being Ali and Libby. I had to take a picture of them.
We walked back to our cars, said good bye to everybody and everybody loaded up into their car or bus.
We drove back down and we saw the same runners! My dad said that we should ask if they were from the town of Mitchell, and if they were from that high school. I was little wary about that, but I figured, 'what the heck!?', so we  passed a few kids and then came upon this one kid and my dad slowed the car down, and rolled down the window. My dad said, "Hey!" and the kid (he was Asian) took his ear bud out and sort of nervously smiled. He lifted his hand and said, "Hey." With a thick accent of some sort. So my dad says, "Where are you from?" and the kid says, "South Korea." In a thick, heavy accent. Libby, Ali and I begin to laugh. The kid attempts to put his ear bud back in and he continues to run but my dad doesn't keep driving on, he slows the car down and catches up with him, officially making creeper status and my dad asks, "Are you training?" and the kid goes, "Yeah." and runs away. BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ali, Libby and I laughed sooo hard. My dad really isn't a creeper. He really isn't. He was just curious.
Left the Painted Hills and drove for a long time... until we hit SNOW! I was reading, and all of a sudden my dad says, "Look, it's snowing!" and I look up, and there it is! White fluffy flakes coming at us, and accumulating on the side of the road!
That was a bit crazy!
We eventually drove out of the snow, and we quickly got to Madras where we pulled into a Dairy Queen and had some dinner. Ali, Libby and I all ordered the same thing! A chicken strip basket with 4 pieces and 2 slices of toast and lots of fries! I also got some Dr. Pepper. I haven't had soda in so long! It tasted delicious!
Ali, Libby and I discussed the types of fast food and where you can get 'quality' fast food.
Dairy Queen,
Subway,
and a few others, but I forgot them. There are few places that you can get fast food and the fast food doesn't weigh heavy on your stomach.
I instagram'd it so that people knew we had reached 'civilization'. haha.
It was a really good dinner! I like Dairy Queen food.
Along the drive home, I took many more pictures of the road. I pictures of country side and fields. This one picture I loved in particular was a field with two silos. I was really proud of myself that I got that picture.
We ended up dropping off Ali and Libby at their houses, and we got back to my house at 9:45! We were scheduled to get back to school by 11:00 PM! We beat the bus! I was so glad we didn't return at 11. So glad!
It was  a very fun trip, and I will have many memories of it. I hope to return to John Day Fossil Beds and explore more.
It was lots of fun!
I'm sorry for such a long post, it was a long trip and I wanted to include everything for my readers!
I left a lot out! Ha.
Hope you enjoyed my pictures!
I enjoyed taking them.
:)
